Mid Century Designer - Verner Panton

I am a BIG fan of mid-century design.

For me, Verner Panton is one of the most influential designers of the period, creating innovative and futuristic designs.

Born in 1926 in Denmark and graduating from the Royal Danish Academy of Art, he started working for Arne Jacobsen before setting up his own design and architectural office in 1955.

Famous for his bright shades of primary colours and geometric styles, his rugs usually incorporated the initials V.P or his signature. Not only experimenting with colour - he experimented with texture and pile as seen in the 'Rya’ style of the 1970’s.

Many of his rug and furniture models are still in production and his vintage rugs are sought after and provide a punch for any interior.

"One sits more comfortably on a colour one likes" - Verner Pantone.
